Outlook 2007 provides two way synchronization. Browse to SharePoint site where calendar is displayed. Choose menu Actions -> Connect to Outlook. Once connected, you can create, modify and delete calendar entry from both SharePoint and Outlook 2007! That means you don't need to browse to SharePoint site just to update/view team or project calendar!
If you're using Outlook 2003 (by the way, other applications of MS Office 2003 and 2007 can coexist but not Outlook 2003 and 2007), it can only pull info. from SharePoint site; it can't write it back.
Also, Outlook 2003 does not display all day entries from SharePoint calendar correctly - they start from previous day 8:00pm when you look at calendar from Outlook 2003! So, all day event for two days spans actually for three days. Upgrade to Outlook 2007 to see entries correctly; and after upgrade, re-connect calendar to outlook 2007. If you see two calendar entries (one under my calendars and the other under Other calendars), delete "SharePoint folders" from Tools -> Account Settings and then Data Files

| This is a helpful tool, but our OL 2007 gets hung up on the send/receive when we have SharePoint calendars synchronized with Outlook. We had to delete the SharePoint lists so that Outlook would stop crashing. |

| I have heard that Outlook 2007 slows down for a number of reasons. I suggest removing Data Files (used for synchronization) from Account Settings and re-adding the calendar back.

Hope this helps.
Ravi. |

| I have tried this, but the item is recreated on the next send receive. I really want to use this feature of SharePoint and am disappointed that it isn't working smoothly. What other reasons have you heard of? |
